What an incredible way to celebrate 20 years of Brisbane Fashion Festival!

Thank you to everyone who joined us in King George Square and at our satellite events throughout the city. Your energy and passion made this milestone year our most spectacular yet.

We were proud to welcome thousands of fashion lovers, media and VIP guests across a week of sold-out shows and events, along with the many more who tuned in via our livestreams.

Our heartfelt thanks go to:

●    Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and Festival Ambassador, Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner, for their ongoing support.
●    Our incredible designers and retailers, who lit up the runway with more than 600 new-season looks.
●    The production crews, staging teams, hair and makeup partners, and all working behind the scenes.
●    And of course, our valued Festival Partners, whose support makes Queensland’s largest fashion event possible.

SPOTLIGHT ON OUR VOLUNTEERS

This year, we were proud to have the support of 268 dedicated volunteers who gave their time, talent, and passion to help make Brisbane Fashion Festival shine.

From ushering guests and assisting backstage, to helping manage the buzz of King George Square, our volunteers are the heart of the Festival. Their energy, professionalism, and enthusiasm created a welcoming experience for all and ensured the Festival ran seamlessly from start to finish.

To every single one of you, thank you. Brisbane Fashion Festival simply wouldn’t be possible without your commitment and spirit.

WERE YOU SPOTTED? STREET STYLE AT ITS BEST

Brisbane Fashion Festival isn’t only about what happens on the runway, it’s also about the incredible fashion moments created by our guests. Across the week, our photographers captured the energy, individuality and creativity of the crowds, from bold statement looks to effortless off-duty chic.

With the Festival celebrating its 20th year, the street style was brighter, bolder and more diverse than ever, proving that Brisbane’s fashion lovers know how to turn every arrival into a runway moment.

REIMAGINING AN ICON: THE DRIZA-BONE DESIGN COMPETITION

One of the most exciting elements of the 20th Anniversary Festival was the Driza-Bone Design Competition, made possible thanks to Hancock Prospecting and Mrs Gina Rinehart.

Earlier this year, Brisbane Fashion Festival invited Queensland’s leading fashion colleges, QUT Fashion, Whitehouse Institute of Design, and TAFE QLD Brisbane, to take part in a creative challenge to reimagine the iconic Driza-Bone coat for today’s modern traveller.

Using supplied fabrics, including the heritage brown waxcloth synonymous with Driza-Bone, each college presented a capsule of five jackets. The designs were judged on four key criteria:

1. Innovation balanced with marketability
2. A defined aesthetic for today’s traveller while honouring the brand’s heritage
3. Quality of design and fabrication with a focus on sustainability
4. International relevance of the collection

The results were nothing short of spectacular, with students demonstrating bold new visions of this iconic Australian garment.

Congratulations to our winners:
🥇 1st Prize: Elise Smith, Whitehouse Institute of Design
🥈 2nd Prize: Jada Habberjam, TAFE Queensland Brisbane
🥉 3rd Prize: Gracie Lange & Tilly Walker, Whitehouse Institute of Design
✨ Highly Commended: April Want, QUT Fashion & Narelle Tobin, TAFE Queensland Brisbane
