On the opening weekend of the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide, Volleyball Australia and its athletes extend their sincere thanks to Mrs Gina Rinehart and Hancock Prospecting for their strong support over so many years.

“For 12 years as our Patron Mrs Rinehart’s care, generosity and genuine belief in our athletes helped shape some of Australia’s most successful Olympic and Commonwealth Games campaigns.

“Her contribution was never just financial, she was a constant presence, often courtside, celebrating the highs and standing with our athletes through the toughest moments,” said Craig Carracher, President Volleyball Australia.

While the formal partnership between Hancock Prospecting and Volleyball Australia concluded in December 2024, its legacy continues. The achievement of qualifying a record nine Australian teams for this year’s World Championships is, in part, a reflection of the foundation built through her longstanding support.

In recognition of her 12 year patronage of Volleyball Australia, the board of directors today award Mrs Rinehart with our lifetime achievement award and extend it’s deepest gratitude to Hancock Prospecting.

As the world’s best beach volleyball athletes step onto the sand at The Drive and Pinky Flat in Adelaide, Volleyball Australia acknowledge’s with gratitude the role Mrs Rinehart and Hancock Prospecting have played in the sport’s journey and in helping so many athletes chase and realise their dreams.
