November 21st marks National Agriculture and Related Industries Day, a day that celebrates those who form the backbone of Australia!
Established by our Executive Chairman Mrs Gina Rinehart, this day recognises the vital contributions of farmers and pastoralists and others in the agricultural industry.
It is also a time to recognise the thousands of businesses, many small and family owned, that rely on agriculture succeeding.
To achieve this, we need the right settings in place to support agri-business free of red-and-green tape, soaring energy costs, rising taxes and the increasingly heavy and impossible burdens associated with net zero.
Through Hancock Agriculture, we proudly deliver iconic Australian brands Driza-bone, Rossi Boots, S. Kidman hats, boots and clothing, S. Kidman pies and our world-leading 2GR Wagyu to customers across the country and around the world, showcasing the best of what Aussie agriculture has to offer and providing jobs in one of the country’s most important industries.
Celebrating the day, Mrs Rinehart said: “Our farmers are among the most efficient and environmentally careful in the world. Farmers are more than just food and fibre providers; they are central to our history and our DNA.
As much as anything, today exists to remind us all to be proud of our pioneering ancestors, to defend this national inheritance, and to protect it for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
Agriculture is essential to the national economy, is essential for our future, and it is central to our national identity and indelible to the history and fabric of my family.
We can be very proud of being farmers and pastoralists, but we must also stand up for agriculture and defend it. We need our city politicians to stand up for those in the bush, not pretend or lie that they do.
Our pioneers sure had it hard. It’s on their shoulders we can stand. Let’s not see our farmers and pastoralists disappear because we did not stand up and help them fight.”
