Hancock Agriculture is pleased to confirm the acquisition of Split Rock Dairy

The 1,981ha property situated north of Manila in the Tamworth region in New South Wales will compliment other backgrounding properties within the Hancock Agriculture portfolio. The property includes irrigated and dryland cropping with 366 ha irrigated through 11 pivots.

The purchase of this property is consistent with the Hancock Agriculture strategy of acquiring properties to support growth in our annual turnoff of 2GR branded Fullblood and Pure Bred Wagyu. We thank the vendor for facilitating the sales process and we wish them well.

The acquisition complements other agricultural acquisitions in the last twelve months including Moolan Downs and Ottley as well as other smaller acquisitions around Australia that compliment other aggregations.

Split Rock Dairy, to be now known as Buena Vista, will now be integrated into the Hancock Agriculture portfolio with a focus on investing infrastructure and implementing actions areas that focus on animal welfare, and employee safety.

Hancock Agriculture and our staff, led by Chair Mrs Gina Rinehart, will continue to implement our philosophy on animal welfare noting our mantra that “happy healthy cattle are the best cattle”. We continue to drive a change in the culture across the business. Hancock Agriculture have been leaders in this regard.

The purchase price and specific terms for each sale remains confidential.

Hancock Agriculture is a division of the Hancock Prospecting, majority owned by Mrs Gina Rinehart, founder and Patron of National Agriculture & Related Industries Day, held each November 21st. Mrs Rinehart’s ancestors had a long history’s in cattle, dating back to the early settlement of West Australia, and is a genuine advocate of the industry.

Through its majority ownership in this iconic business, there is a focus on improving productivity through herd improvement and expanding its backgrounding and feeding capacity to deliver a range of branded beef grain fed and grass-fed products.

Hancock’s east coast wagyu operations, which currently form the largest Fullblood and Pure Bred Wagyu herd in the world, will continue to grow through additional production and broadacre cropping properties. Its multiple branded premium beef product lines, including the premium 2GR Wagyu, are sold both domestically and internationally in many of the world’s finest restaurants.
