Listen to Gina

Article by John Edwards, courtesy of the Courier Mail.

Gina Rinehart is to be commended for her article in Friday’s paper (“Without a shift, our goose will be cooked” – Opinion, Bush Summit special, C-M, 25/8).

She is an excellent businesswoman who is a very passionate about Australia and the need for change for us all to prosper going forward.

Let’s stop pandering to minority groups and being bogged down in red tape and support the industries and business that help make Australia a very successful economy.

Small business is being peppered with extra costs and legislations, no wonder so many are going out of business in record numbers.

As Gina pointed out, our agriculture industry and bush communities need greater support.

Two potential sites have already been identified in North Queensland for ‘Ord River’ style projects to be established. We are the bread basket of Asia, and the world, lets develop the north and capture the massive rains and put it to good use.

I noted with some disgust that an article in another publication criticised Gina’s column by stating that the farming communities have had a very successful season financially. Wow, one good season in many and they cop this The billions of dollars the mining industry gives to state and federal governments is enormous and the figures need to be presented to the Australian public regularly, because without this money many other handouts and welfare payments could only be possible by huge tax increases.

Think about it Australia and hope the politicians do listen to Gina Rinehart.
