GINA Rinehart led Hancock Agriculture has bought the Packhorse Pastoral Company operations Ottley Station and Moolan Downs Aggregation. A statement issued by Hancock Agriculture said the purchases were consistent with the Hancock Agriculture strategy of acquiring first class properties to support growth in its annual turnoff of 2GR branded fullblood and purebred Wagyu.
GINA Rinehart’s Hancock Pastoral has confirmed the purchase of two of three premium southern Queensland/Northern NSW grazing properties put to market last December by Packhorse Pastoral Co. “We continue to drive a change in the culture across the business. Hancock Agriculture have been leaders in this regard,” Mrs Rinehart said. Hancock Agriculture plans to implement its philosophy on animal welfare noting its mantra that “happy healthy cattle are the best cattle”.
WHAT a great boss is Gina Rinehart. The wealthy mining and cattle queen generously gave 41 of her staff $100,000 each to celebrate her 41 years at Hancock. She declined to comment, but an executive assistant confirmed the details. Winners were drawn at random. The winners were junior members of the Hancock Resources and S Kidman & Co. companies and included mine workers in the Pilbara and roustabouts on remote Gulf cattle stations. A secretary also won $100,000.

Bannister Downs Dairy attended with more than 400 industry members at the Dairy Industry Association of Australia’s 2023 Awards of Excellence in Melbourne with over 1000 products entered from 100 + producers.
Darkstar Coffee Roasters has taken the top spot at an inaugural barista event hosted by Gina Rinehart backed Bannister Downs DairyFamily-owned specialty coffee roasters Darkstar Coffee’s Andy Tseng took the spot as 2023 champion. Bannister Dairy managing director Sue Daubney, 2010 40Under40 First Amongst Equals Winner, said the event championed community in the food service industry, which has been significantly impacted by staff shortages since the pandemic. The event was also a fundraiser for volunteer mental health awareness initiative Black Dog Ride.
A fun evening to celebrate Bannister Downs Dairy was held on Saturday, with some of Perth’s best baristas competing in a Bannister Downs Dairy ‘latte art’ competition.
